Honestly, when I first walked into this Alster Boho apartment, I wasn’t prepared for just how spacious 150 square meters actually feels – you know that moment when a place is bigger than you expected? The boho vibe isn’t some half-hearted attempt either; we’re talking genuine vintage pieces mixed with plants everywhere, macramé hangings that don’t look like they came from a chain store, and this amazing eclectic collection of artwork that actually tells a story. The host clearly put thought into every corner, which is refreshing when you’ve stayed in too many cookie-cutter places.

What really struck me was how well this place handles groups – and I mean actually handles them, not just crams beds everywhere. With space for up to 9 people, there are enough bathrooms that you’re not queuing in the morning (trust me, this matters), plus the living areas are generous enough that you can spread out without stepping on each other. The kitchen is properly equipped too, not just the usual two burners and a prayer. I actually ended up cooking dinner for our group one night, and there was counter space, decent knives, enough plates – all those details that make the difference between a frustrating evening and a fun one. The dining area comfortably seats everyone, which sounds obvious but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong.

The location puts you right in the sweet spot near the Alster – close enough to walk to the water for morning runs or evening strolls, but tucked away from the main tourist crush. You’ll hear some street noise during the day, but nothing that keeps you awake at night. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood (it’s Hamburg, after all), but there are options within a reasonable walk. The perfect 10 rating honestly makes sense when you stay here – it’s one of those places where everything just works the way it should, from the WiFi actually being fast enough for video calls to the shower having proper water pressure. The host is responsive without being intrusive, check-in was smooth, and they’ve clearly figured out how to make a large group feel comfortable without sacrificing the character that makes this place special. If you’re traveling with a bunch of friends or family and want something with personality that won’t have you all driving each other crazy, this is exactly what you’re looking for.

  Sehr geräumige Unterkunft, schön eingerichtet und mit großem Tisch, um gemeinsam essen zu können. Die Kommunikation mit den Inhabern hat super funktioniert. Die Lage ist sehr zentral (10 min. zu Fuß vom Hbf entfernt, 5 min von der Alster). Für unser Gruppenwochenende in Hamburg war es perfekt.

  Ein kleiner Tipp für die Küchenausstattung: ein Gemüseschäler und ein weiterer Spülmaschinen-Tab wären noch schön gewesen. Unsere Gruppe hat aktiv gekocht, da ist etwas mehr Geschirr angefallen.
