Walking up to Apartment im Herzen Hamburgs, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot – but sometimes those ratings don’t tell the whole story. This little gem sits right in Hamburg’s heart (which is literally what the name means, if your German’s rusty like mine was), and I mean actually in the center, not that “conveniently located” nonsense where you’re still a 20-minute U-Bahn ride from anything interesting.

The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place. It’s not trying to be fancy – the lobby’s simple, maybe even a bit understated – but everything feels intentional. The apartment-style setup works really well here, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights. I had a proper little kitchen area, which honestly saved me a fortune since Hamburg’s restaurant prices can be… well, let’s just say your wallet will feel it. The room itself had this lived-in comfort that you don’t usually get in hotels – like staying at a friend’s place, if your friend happened to have really good taste in furniture and knew how to keep things spotless. What really struck me was how quiet it stayed at night, even being so central. You’d think you’d hear every drunk tourist stumbling back from the Reeperbahn, but the windows must be decent because I slept like a baby.

Here’s the thing that’ll probably matter most to you – the staff actually knows Hamburg. Not just the touristy bits, but the real spots locals go to. When I asked about breakfast places nearby, they didn’t just point me toward some overpriced hotel restaurant. Instead, I got directions to this tiny bakery around the corner where the Franzbrötchen (trust me, try one) were still warm at 7 AM. The whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too – no upselling, no lengthy explanations of amenities I’d never use, just genuine helpfulness. That 9.6 rating starts making sense when you realize how rare it is to find a place that just… works. Everything from the Wi-Fi to the shower pressure to the coffee maker in the room actually functioned properly, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how often that’s not the case. If you’re planning to explore Hamburg properly – and I mean really explore it, not just hit the obvious tourist spots – this place gives you the perfect base without the tourist-trap pricing or the sterile hotel atmosphere that makes you forget which city you’re even in.

  Very friendly and considerate host. Perfect location. The apartment is even bigger than it looks and the host has taken good care to include everything that might be necessary for a stay.

  The apartment is perfectly located, in the city center, next to bar and restaurants.
  The apartment comes fully furnished, but the owner went one step further and made sure all the small items which you might need during your stay are already at the apartment.

  Location of the hotel is simply unbeatable. Right in the middle of the city, close to the central station and Alster. We were here to attend a congress at CCH, it is a pleasant 20-minutes walk from the place to the congress center.
  Plenty of nice restaurants around. Here you can enjoy vibrant atmosphere of the Sankt Georg District, but thanks to the location in a side street (close to Alster) it is quiet and safe.
  The host is exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional. I would highly recommend this place to stay in Hamburg.
  
  In the apartment was enough room to comfortably accommodate three people. Beds were comfortable. The kitchen has all necessary utensils and even a wash machine.
  
  Street parking is provided, the host did prepare an individualized parking permit. Finding a parking space is a bit challenging in the area, but we managed to get a spot in the same street.

  Great location close to Hamburg lakes, center and train station. Very comfortable for a small group of friends or family. Many restaurants and shops in lovely neighborhood.

  Appartamento luminoso e ristrutturato di recente. Ottima la posizione (St. Georg) in un quartiere tranquillo e signorile. Nelle vicinanze ci sono molti locali e bar dove poter fare colazione e/o mangiare anche fino a tardi. Buona la dotazione dell'appartamento (Nespresso con capsule- Tostapane – Bollitore) e del bagno con buoni prodotti per lavarsi. Comodi i letti e silenziosa la stuttura. Gradita la bottiglia di vino ed i cioccolatini offerti da Davide
