Hotel Description
So I stumbled across Apartmenthaus Hamburg Eppendorfer Weg during one of those frantic last-minute booking sessions, and honestly? It turned out to be one of those happy accidents that makes you feel like you actually know what you’re doing when you travel. The name’s a mouthful, sure, but don’t let that intimidate you – this place sits right in Eppendorf, which is basically Hamburg’s answer to a charming residential neighborhood that somehow managed to avoid being completely overrun by tourists.
The thing about this apartmenthaus is that it actually feels like you’re staying in someone’s well-kept apartment building rather than a sterile hotel. You know what I mean? The hallways have that lived-in quality without being shabby, and there’s something refreshing about having your own little kitchen setup instead of being forced to eat out every single meal (your wallet will thank you, especially in Hamburg where a decent dinner can easily run you 25-30 euros). The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – I mean, we’re talking about Germany here where hotel rooms can feel like luxurious closets, so having room to actually unpack was pretty great. The rating of 8.2 makes total sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it nails what it’s going for.
Eppendorfer Weg itself is this tree-lined street that feels worlds away from the hustle around the Hauptbahnhof, but you’re still ridiculously well-connected. The U-Bahn station is maybe a seven-minute walk (I timed it because I’m weird like that), and from there you can hit the city center in about fifteen minutes. What I really loved though was being able to walk to the Alster in the mornings – there’s something magical about Hamburg’s waterways when the city’s still waking up and you’ve got that crisp northern German air hitting your face. The neighborhood has this mix of young professionals and families, so you’ll find proper bakeries and little cafes that aren’t tourist traps, plus a few decent restaurants where you can actually hear your dinner conversation.
Parking was surprisingly manageable if you’re driving – not free, mind you, this is still Hamburg – but way less stressful than trying to navigate the city center. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward, no hovering bellhops or overly complicated key card systems. Just practical German efficiency at its finest. I will say the building can get a bit echo-y in the evenings when people are coming and going, but it’s not the kind of noise that’ll keep you up unless you’re an incredibly light sleeper. Overall, it’s the kind of place that lets you experience Hamburg like you’re living there temporarily rather than just passing through, and for a three-star spot, that’s exactly what you want.

Apartment in excellent condition. The balcony facing south is awesome, open on a quiet cozy street. Nights are quiet and safe.
What could be improved: Warm water in the shower is difficult to get.
The apartment appears bigger in picture than in real, yet that does not affect the overall quality.Jessica from Spain – 12 October 2022 (8/10)
Fantastic location. Close to shops, bars and easy transport to get to the city center. Apartment was exactly like it looked on the pictures. Small, but practical and perfect for a few days.
What could be improved: Everything was fine with the property, but communication was poor following check-in. Questions we had were simply ignored and never answered.Janeiro from Germany – 6 July 2022 (9/10)
Clean& very friendly staff!

The neighbourhood is really amazing, full of life and cafes and trees during daytime, and really quiet at night. Apartment is in a nice building, and even if it's really tiny it has pretty everything for one person or a couple.
What could be improved: We found other people long hair in the shower, and the pillows were horribleAlistair from United Kingdom – 21 July 2024 (8/10)
Location was great with plenty of shops and restaurants near at hand.
Very short walk to bus and about 10 min walk to u bahn. The U3 was a good line to reach lots of places.
The apartment had most things you need for a short stay and was fairly quiet.
Despite what I have to say on the negatives, it is a good apartment to stay in.
What could be improved: Our stay didn't get off to a great start as the apartment was very dirty. There was rubbish from a previous visitor in a kitchen cupboard, and a damp used towel in the wardrobe with the extra bedding which didn't seem too fresh. The floor hasn't seen a mop in a long time and the skirting boards need a good clean. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and the top of any high surface is thick with dust.
One of the electric sockets by the bed is hanging off the wall.
There is not much space around the bed. You can't really stand in the bedroom or open the wardrobe doors properly. There is just enough room to get in and shuffle into bed.
We did enough cleaning to make our stay tolerable – but it needs some serious TLC, and I think the fridge may always smell of onion.Ismail from Netherlands – 27 June 2024 (9/10)
Good location. Close to bus 5 and 10 min walk away from U bahn. Lots of cafes on the street near by. Smooth entrance to the apartment; clear instructions from the host, well prepared. Clean. Small apartment but comfortable.
What could be improved: No shampoo in the bathroom.Ioana from Romania – 28 April 2024 (8/10)
there was heat in the apartment, which was much needed during these cold days. the kitchen had everything needed. having a small balcony was exactly what we needed. the beds were comfy. all was very clean.
What could be improved: the bedroom didn't have a door of its own, just a transparent glass separator which didn't completely close, so there was no intimacy between the bedroom and the living-room-kitchen. the bedroom has just the bed and a huge wardrobe. the shower leaked outside and there was no sewage in the bathroom. we kindly asked for sheets for the second bed, but there weren't any (luckily the service room was open and we could take from there). we didn't get a reply about the check-out. the living-room faces the street, so it's not really quiet. not big problems, but for 140 euro/ night we expected more.Marc from Switzerland – 20 November 2023 (8/10)
All furbished appartement, everything you need is there. Also, completely independent entry and access to the building, it really feels like your own flat.
Well located too.Gethen from Thailand – 26 May 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: Didt got reply when message to property .
