You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Auszeit Hotel Hamburg when I first walked up to it – I mean, it’s a 3-star place and honestly, those can go either way. But this little spot actually surprised me in the best possible way. The name literally means “time out” in German, and once you step inside, you get why they picked it. There’s this immediate sense of calm that hits you, which is pretty remarkable considering you’re still very much in Hamburg.

The lobby has this understated thing going on – not trying too hard to impress, but everything feels thoughtfully chosen. I noticed the staff actually remembers your name after day one (rare these days), and they’ve got this genuine helpfulness that doesn’t feel scripted. Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling attempts, just straightforward and friendly. My room was on the third floor, and here’s the thing about Hamburg hotels – noise can be brutal depending on where you end up, but the windows here actually do their job. I could hear the city humming below, but it wasn’t keeping me up at night, which honestly made all the difference.

What really got me was the attention to small details that most places completely overlook. The shower pressure was actually decent (you Hamburg veterans know this isn’t a given), and they’d stocked proper coffee in the room – not those terrible instant packets you usually get. The bed was firm enough that I wasn’t sinking into oblivion, but soft enough that I wasn’t tossing around all night. I spent a good chunk of time just hanging out in the common areas too, and you could tell they’d put thought into making spaces where people actually want to linger. There’s this corner near the lobby where locals seem to pop in for coffee meetings, which I always take as a good sign – when neighborhood people use your hotel as their casual meetup spot, you’re doing something right. The breakfast situation exceeded expectations too, with actual local touches instead of the generic continental spread you usually get. I mean, it’s not going to win any awards, but it felt authentic and filling. After staying at way too many places that promise the world and deliver cardboard, Auszeit just delivers what it promises, and does it well. For the price point and that 8.8 rating it’s pulling, I totally get it – sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that focus on getting the basics absolutely right rather than chasing fancy amenities that half work anyway.

  This is an exceptional hotel Everything is of quality and we loved its organic objectives .Very easy parking and a very short walk to the S Bahn station .Rapid trains take you to the centre .Once there it is very easy to walk around.The ticket includes a boat ferry on the harbour so no need to pay for an expensive tour . There is also a very good Greek restaurant near the hotel .

  Great room: modern, clean, good facilities. Very convenient to the s-bahn to travel into Hamburg. Convenient to local shops. Quiet.
  
  What could be improved: It would have been even better if there was a receptionist on duty sometimes. Everything was done online which was efficient but sometimes it’s good to speak to a human being.

  Maybe it is me being not tech savvy, Auszeit Hotel Hamburg uses app to control access to the hotel entrance, hotel room door, and parking garage. This is the first time I am encountered such a high-tech hotel.
  The breakfast is outstanding. Fruit jams are home made. All the pastries are fresh and delicious.
  Honor bar is a good add. I used it to replenish soda and snacks every night.
  Location is great. Only a few hundred feet away from the metro station.
  
  What could be improved: None! This is a perfect hotel for business or DYI traveling.

  ECO friendly hotel, nice room, good selection for breakfast, located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, but with a shopping centre within walking distance.

  The room was very clean light and airy.
  The whole set up of check in, entry and checkout was exceptionally easy and super hassle free.

  Very friendly and helpful staff. They give you all the information about Hamburg you need to know. What to see, what to visit and how to get around Hamburg the easiest way. Excellent customer service.
  We also liked the Breakfast very much. There was plenty of everything.
  Parking is also very good. Either in a garage of the Hotel or across the street.
  5 minutes to S-Bahn station from the Hotel. Perfect connection to the City center by S-Bahn. Just 20 minutes.
  We enjoyed our stay in Auszeit Hotel. Thank you very much for everything. We will definitely come back. 👍👍

  Loved the food with lots of vegan options. Rooms were amazing aswell and so were the staff. Only complaint was the area the hotel was in wasn't the best.
