City Apartment Reeperbahn Hamburg Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to City Apartment Reeperbahn Hamburg, you immediately know you’re somewhere with character. The building sits right in the heart of St. Pauli on Friedrichstraße, and honestly, the energy of the neighborhood hits you before you even step inside. This three-star property doesn’t try to be something it’s not — it’s clean, modern, and perfectly positioned for anyone who wants to experience Hamburg’s most famous district without the tourist trap feel.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this place? You’re literally steps away from the Reeperbahn, but far enough from the main drag that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, couples consistently rate this location highly (8.3 out of 10), and after spending time here, I get why. The famous entertainment district is right there when you want it, but you can also walk to quieter parts of St. Pauli for coffee or a proper meal. The S-Bahn connections are solid too — you’ll reach the city center or harbor area in minutes.
The Apartment Experience
These aren’t traditional hotel rooms, they’re actual apartments, which makes a huge difference if you’re staying more than a night or two. The spaces feel lived-in rather than sterile, with proper kitchenettes that actually work (not those tiny hotel fridges that barely keep water cold). The furnishings are contemporary without being flashy, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff — something you really appreciate after a few days of sightseeing. The Wi-Fi is reliable, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to figure out Hamburg’s public transport or find that restaurant someone recommended.
Practical Comforts
What I really appreciated was how thoughtfully everything’s set up. The kitchens have actual cooking equipment, not just a microwave and hope. There’s proper storage space, decent lighting for getting ready, and the bathrooms are well-designed (you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong). The building itself is quiet — well, as quiet as you can expect in St. Pauli — and the apartment-style setup means you’re not dealing with hotel corridor noise at all hours.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests have rated the location at 9.1, and honestly, that tracks with my experience. You’re getting authentic Hamburg neighborhood life while being perfectly positioned for both nightlife and daytime exploring. The apartment setup gives you flexibility that regular hotels just can’t match — grab groceries from the nearby shops, make your own coffee in the morning, or just have a quiet space to regroup between adventures. It’s the kind of place that works whether you’re here for the infamous nightlife scene or just want a well-located base for exploring this fascinating city. The value feels right for what you get, especially considering you’re essentially renting a small Hamburg apartment in one of the city’s most talked-about neighborhoods.
To book a hotel in Hamburg during the famous Hamburg DOM festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts maritime enthusiasts and culture lovers from around the world.

It was a cheap place to stay at short notice. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. Appreciated having an outside space.
What could be improved: There weren't two bedrooms, only one bedroom with a bed put into the lounge room. Fortunately the disco was closed when we were there. Only one working chair in the kitchen.Luis from Brazil – 14 June 2024 (9/10)
