You know what struck me first about Clounys Hotel? It’s one of those places that actually lives up to its 4-star rating without trying too hard to impress you. I mean, when you see a 9.1 rating, you’re always wondering if it’s just a bunch of fake reviews, but honestly – this place gets it right.

The thing about Clounys is that it feels like someone put real thought into the guest experience without going overboard with fancy nonsense. The lobby has this comfortable, lived-in elegance – not the sterile marble situation you get at some hotels where you’re afraid to touch anything. Check-in was actually pleasant (rare these days), and the staff seemed to know what they were doing instead of fumbling around with the computer system for ten minutes. The rooms are well, they’re what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, but with those little touches that show someone cares. Good lighting for actually reading, outlets where you need them, and – this might sound weird – but the shower pressure was fantastic. You’d be surprised how many expensive hotels mess that up.

What really won me over was the attention to detail without the pretension. The housekeeping is spot-on, breakfast doesn’t feel like an afterthought, and there’s this sense that the place runs smoothly because the management actually knows hospitality. I stayed during what seemed like a busy period, and even then, things moved efficiently. The noise levels were reasonable too – you know how some hotels have paper-thin walls where you hear every conversation in the hallway? Not an issue here. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with some revolutionary hotel concept, but sometimes you just want a place that does everything well without any unpleasant surprises. Clounys delivers on that promise, and honestly, that 9.1 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve spent a night or two there. It’s the kind of hotel you’d book again without hesitation – and coming from someone who’s stayed in way too many disappointing places, that’s saying something.

  Everything! The staff were super friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. Our room was perfectly laid out and clean and perfectly appointed. Loved the windows to the street. It was warm and cozy when we wanted and nice and cool when we needed it to be. One of the best rooms I’ve ever slept in. The bed was amazing! Live the location as it wasn’t in the hustle and bustle of downtown. The train station is right outside the front door so not is easy to get anywhere you want. No parking lot but there is street side parking all over the place. If we return to Hamburg, we will be staying at Clouneys!

  The Staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was super clean, the bed was very comfortable and a nice addition was the free coffee and tea in the room.
  The breakfast was tasty and had a good variety. The restaurant has a very good menu and the food was very tasty.
  The hotel is close to the S Bahn Station Wellingsbuettel and also close to the Alsterwanderweg.

  When I go to Hamburg, I only stay in this hotel. Very modern, clean and a special place to stay. 🙂
  Last time I had an early flight and I went to hotel at 9 in the morning and asked if maybe it is possible to check in early – it was possible! I also needed an iron and it was arranged super quickly. I love everything about this place!

  We have stayed here for 4 days in a very cute and comfortable room . Location was excellent for us . Close to the train – 20 mins to town. and some really nice shopping and walking areas with the Alstertal close by . Would love to stay again .
