You know what caught me off guard about Come2Stay Hafencity? It’s actually in the Marco Polo Tower, which sounds way fancier than it needs to be, but honestly – the location is pretty incredible. I mean, you’re right in the heart of HafenCity, Hamburg’s newest district, and everything feels so modern and clean it’s almost surreal. The first time I walked around here, I kept thinking it looked like someone’s vision of what a European waterfront should look like in 2030.

The apartment-style setup works really well if you’re staying more than a couple nights. These aren’t your typical hotel rooms – you get proper living spaces with kitchenettes that actually function (I made coffee every morning and it didn’t taste like sadness). The views from the higher floors are honestly spectacular, especially if you snag something facing the Elbe River. You can watch the massive container ships drift by while you’re having breakfast, which is oddly mesmerizing. The building itself has that sleek glass-and-steel thing going on, but it doesn’t feel cold inside. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays – even with all the construction that seems perpetually happening in HafenCity, you don’t really hear it once you’re inside.

Walking around the neighborhood, you realize you’re basically living in Hamburg’s experiment with urban planning. The Speicherstadt is literally a five-minute walk away, and you can wander through those red-brick warehouse canyons whenever you want. There’s this great little coffee spot called Elbgold just around the corner that locals actually go to – not just tourists taking Instagram photos. The U-Bahn connection at Überseequartier gets you anywhere in the city pretty quickly, though honestly, I found myself walking most places because the waterfront paths are so well-designed. Fair warning though – weekends can get busy with families and joggers, especially when the weather’s decent. The staff at Come2Stay seems to genuinely know the area well; they gave me restaurant recommendations that weren’t the obvious tourist traps, which I always appreciate. With a 9.4 rating, you’d expect things to be pretty dialed in, and they are – check-in was smooth, everything worked like it should, and the cleaning was thorough without being intrusive. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re actually living in Hamburg for a few days, not just visiting it.

  Sauberes, grosses, helles Studio-Apt. an Top Lage; Kommunikation mit Gastgebern war einfach. Kaffee/Tee freundlicherweise zur Verfügung gestellt. Kann die Unterkunft gerne weiterempfehlen.

  Eine wirklich sehr schöne Wohnung mit Blick auf die Elbe. Bequeme Betten und abends sehr ruhig. Alles fußläufig gut zu erreichen und unser Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm . Die Gastgeber waren super nett und freundlich… klasse . Die Wohnung empfehlen wir gerne weiter.

  Die Unterkunft war perfekt für einen Städtetrip nach Hamburg. Nähe zur Elbphilharmonie und zu vielen netten Restaurants und Bars. Uns haben auch das urbane Flair und die moderne Architektur sehr gut gefallen. Außerdem war die Unterkunft sehr ruhig und wir konnten uns gut erholen. Die Austattung der Wohnung war sehr gut durchdacht, alles war vorhanden, um sich wohl zu fühlen und um auch mal in der Wohnung essen zu können.

  Es war wirklich sehr sehr sauber. Vom ersten Moment an war ich "zu Hause". Modern und alles da was man braucht. Duschgel, shampoo sogar Spülung von toller Qualität…
  
  What could be improved: Leider haben wir gerade einen Zeitpunkt mit wahnsinnig vielen Baustellen rundherum erwischt. Aber bestens isolierte Fenster haben dies nicht vermuten lassen.
