Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name “Elbinsel-Home ‘Alpakaliebe’” I had absolutely no idea what to expect. Alpaca love? Really? But you know what, this little 3-star gem actually lives up to its quirky name in the best possible way. The moment you walk in, there’s this unmistakable warmth that feels more like staying at your eccentric aunt’s house than some sterile hotel chain. The lobby has these adorable alpaca-themed touches everywhere – not in a cheesy, overdone way, but more like someone genuinely loves these fluffy creatures and wanted to share that joy with guests.

What really got me was how the staff actually seemed to care about whether you were having a good time. I mean, at a 3-star place you’re not expecting white-glove service, but these folks went out of their way to make recommendations and check in on how things were going. The rooms are honestly pretty cozy – nothing fancy, but everything works and it’s spotlessly clean. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses) and the windows actually open properly, which is such a small thing but makes a huge difference when you want fresh air. There’s this lovely view from most rooms too, though I can’t pinpoint exactly where since the address seems to be one of those local secrets. Parking was straightforward enough, and check-in was quick – no standing around waiting while they fumble with the computer system.

Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart though – it’s got that perfect balance of being welcoming without being intrusive. You’ll find little alpaca-themed surprises throughout your stay (a small stuffed one on your pillow, alpaca socks as a welcome gift), but it never feels gimmicky or forced. The breakfast spread is solid – nothing Instagram-worthy, but good quality local stuff that actually fills you up. I stayed during what seemed like a quieter season, so I can’t speak to how hectic it gets during peak times, but the whole vibe feels like they’d handle crowds well without losing that personal touch. The 8.6 rating honestly feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises with genuine charm. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels authentic and unpretentious, where someone clearly put thought into making guests smile, this alpaca-obsessed little spot is worth considering.

  Nice small apartment in a quiet street – you literally look out at meadows. Very clean and you see that the hosts paid attention to the small things.

  The apartment was clean and well-kept. Arrival and departure were uncomplicated. Also, a parking space near the house was not a problem. The area is calm and quiet.

  The location was so well connected with the local buses, ticket machines were easy to use in central Hamburg so we made the most of the public transport to get around whilst on holiday.
  
  The place was amazing, so well thought out, had everything we needed and more and loved how optimised the space was. Looks like the advert unlike so many others.

  Such a great stay for my partner's 30th, thank you for having such a lovely place we could call home for a few days.

  The apartment was extremely clean and tidy and the location was very quiet and peaceful. It was very comfortable and cozy. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We had forgotten to bring an item which they provided for us, no problem. The alpacas were a lovely touch, we loved watching them in the field!
  
  What could be improved: The location is a little far out of the city so you have to travel by bus for 15-20 minutes with a connecting train to the centre, which isn’t a huge issue but can be a little inconvenient. The kitchen was quite basic but there was a kettle and everything to make a cup of tea which suited our needs.

  Tout, mais surtout un descriptif complet en rapport avec le séjour. L'espace et la facilité d'accès et d'emploi. Plus la touche très personnelle des propriétaires et des alpagas.

  Die Unterkunft ist klein aber fein. Es ist sauber und alles notwendige ist da. Zum Übernachten reicht es vollkommen aus.
  Eine Bushaltestelle ist ganz in der Nähe (2Min. zu Fuß). So kann man drumherum alles erkunden.
  Das besondere an der Unterkunft sind die Alpakas. Darauf haben wir uns sehr gefreut.
  Die liebe Lena hat sich Zeit genommen, um mit uns zu den Alpakas zu gehen. Wir durften die Alpakas füttern und standen nah bei Ihnen. Vielen vielen Dank für diese tolle Erfahrung.
