The name’s pretty straightforward (basically just “vacation apartment on Hamburg Street”), and three stars usually means you’re getting the basics covered without any fancy bells and whistles. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, and this place actually delivers on that promise really well.

The apartment sits right on Hamburger Straße, which – depending on where you are in Germany – could mean you’re either in the thick of things or in a nice residential stretch. What I really appreciated was how the place felt genuinely lived-in rather than sterile. You can tell someone put thought into making it comfortable for actual people, not just Instagram photos. The kitchen had proper coffee cups (not those tiny hotel ones), and there were enough outlets near the bed for your phone charger – small things that matter when you’re settling in for more than a night or two. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you spend some time there; it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does well.

I mean, this isn’t the kind of place where you’ll find a concierge or room service, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. It’s more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying at a hotel. The neighborhood felt safe for evening walks, and I could actually hear normal city sounds rather than tourist chaos – which was refreshing. Check-in was straightforward (though I’d recommend confirming the process ahead of time since apartment-style places sometimes handle it differently than hotels). The space itself was clean and had that lived-in comfort that makes you want to actually cook breakfast instead of rushing out to find overpriced café food. If you’re the type of traveler who likes having a proper base to come back to rather than just a place to crash, this works really well. Just don’t expect luxury amenities – think of it more as a comfortable, well-located home base that won’t break the bank.

  I had a fantastic stay in Hamburg! The apartment is perfect for both short and extended stays. It is immaculately clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with a full kitchen, washing machine, and dishwasher. The flat-screen TV provided great entertainment, although i had no time for that. The location is also superb—quiet yet conveniently close to public transport, grocery stores, and cafes. The host was very responsive and accommodating, making my experience even more enjoyable. I particularly appreciated the quiet surroundings and the allergy-friendly setup of the apartment. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Hamburg!🙏🏼👌❤️

  What could be improved: Unfortunately, our experience with the house was terrible.
  
  First of all, when we entered the house / room, we saw simple armchairs instead of a bed. We did the transforming process of turning those armchairs into a bed ourselves. It was not solid and stable, thus, when we sat on it while it was a bed, we fell because of instability. The sheets provided were not very clean and there was no cover for the blankets.
  
  Since we stayed in the house in December and it was not heated before we arrived, it was not warm at all. And one blanket was not enough to keep warm at night. Luckily, we were 3, so we split the 6 blankets.
  
  The bathroom was almost a disaster. Since there was no additional drain in the bathroom and there was no shower cabin, the whole bathroom was flooded when you got into the shower. And the shampoo / conditioner containers were empty. So the bathroom was not comfortable at all.
  
  There were a lot of kitchen appliances in the kitchen, toaster, coffee maker, microwave oven. And with all these appliances there was no room left for the kitchen counter. Also, since the faucet was very pressurized, water splashed on us and on the counter. Additionally, there was a dining table and armchairs in the house. However, it was not comfortable and took up space for nothing.
  
  Even if we ignore all these things, we had a big trauma that we will never forget on the only day we stayed at home. Since it was on the ground floor, with semi-transparent glass, we were disturbed at night by the light of street lamps and the sounds of people outside. And as if that wasn't enough, someone forced our door at 7 in the morning and tried to come in. We couldn't do anything about it, we felt very insecure. If the thief had just thrown a stone at the glass, he could have easily gotten in. Or he could have waited in front of the door and disturbed us or harmed us.
