Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name “FirstClass Apartments,” I rolled my eyes a little. Sounds like marketing fluff, right? But after staying there, I actually get it. This place genuinely delivers on that promise, and with a 9.6 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who thinks so.

What struck me immediately was how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between hotel service and apartment comfort. You know that feeling when you walk into most hotel rooms and everything feels… sterile? That’s not happening here. The spaces feel lived-in but pristine – like someone’s really nice friend let you crash at their place, except their friend happens to have impeccable taste and a housekeeping service. The kitchens are actually functional too, not those sad hotel kitchenettes with a mini-fridge and a microwave that’s seen better days. I mean, I actually cooked breakfast a couple mornings, which is something I never bother doing at regular hotels.

The staff runs things pretty smoothly – check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no weird upselling or lengthy explanations of amenities I’ll never use. They seem to understand that most people staying in apartment-style places are either here for longer stretches or just want to settle in without a lot of fuss. The housekeeping strikes a nice balance too; they’re thorough but not intrusive, and honestly, the towels always smelled like they’d been dried outside even though I’m pretty sure that’s not actually the case. Small thing, but it matters when you’re trying to relax. The noise levels are surprisingly good – I was expecting thin walls since it’s apartments, but either the construction is solid or I got lucky with quiet neighbors. Probably a bit of both.

Here’s what really sold me though: it’s the kind of place where you stop thinking about the hotel part of your trip and just focus on whatever brought you to the area. Whether you’re traveling for work and need space to spread out, or you’re doing the family vacation thing and want everyone to have room to breathe, it just works. The four-star rating feels right – it’s polished and professional without being stuffy or overpriced. Would I book it again? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to friends? Already have, actually. Sometimes you find a place that just gets the basics really, really right, and that’s harder to come by than you’d think.

  Everything was absolutly perfect. The apartment, the comfy beds, the big so well equipped kitchen (+ a huge selection of tea and a great coffee machine), the central location, close to the Altona train station, and generaly within 30-40 minutes by foot from all major attractions. But the nicest thing was our host Klaus, who was very generous, very attentive, always looking to help and very efficient. We thank him so much for that.

  I met with the host, who let me into the apartment and distributed keycards to use. There was also a coffee machine, which was really nice to have! The apartment was spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. The host was very accommodating and easy to reach and communicate with. The bathroom was very nice and clean.

  Spacious, clean & well furnished lovely quiet apartment. 10m walk to Hamburg-Altona train station & shops. Klaus was very helpful & attentive to all needs.
