You know what? The Hamburg City Apartment isn’t going to blow you away with luxury, but there’s something refreshingly honest about this place that I actually appreciated. It’s one of those 3-star spots that doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not – and honestly, that’s kind of a relief in a city where so many places oversell themselves.

The location is actually pretty solid, though you’ll want to know what you’re getting into. You’re right in the thick of things, which means you can walk to most of the stuff you actually want to see, but it also means there’s going to be some street noise – especially on weekends when the bars nearby get going. I mean, we’re talking about Hamburg here, so that’s sort of expected. The building itself has that sturdy German apartment feel, you know? Thick walls, decent soundproofing once you close the windows, and radiators that actually work (learned not to take that for granted after a few European trips). Check-in was straightforward – no fancy lobby scene, just efficient and friendly enough.

What I liked most was how the place felt lived-in rather than sterile. The apartments have enough space to actually unpack your stuff, which is huge when you’re staying more than a couple nights. The kitchenette isn’t going to win any design awards, but it’s got everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Rewe down the street and save some euros on meals. The bathroom was clean and the shower had proper water pressure – honestly, sometimes that’s all you need. The 7.2 rating feels about right to me; it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises. There were a few minor things that could use updating (the WiFi was a bit spotty in the bedroom, and one of the kitchen cabinet doors was slightly wonky), but nothing that really affected the stay. If you’re the type who needs turndown service and marble everything, this isn’t your spot. But if you want a clean, comfortable base in Hamburg without paying tourist-trap prices, and you don’t mind the authentic city sounds that come with actually being in the city, then yeah – I’d probably book it again.

  Besonders gefallen hat mir der große Tisch mit den beiden Bänken und das gemütliche Bett. Und natürlich die Lage. Bahnhof Altona, Bäcker und viele Geschäfte in der unmittelbaren Nähe und dennoch liegt das Appartment ruhig in der Seitenstraße.

  Super Lage und keine Hauptstraße vor der Tür.
  Privatparkplatz direkt an der Wohnung.
  Gute Einrichtung inklusive Spülmaschine und Waschmaschine.

  What could be improved: Die Wohnung war ziemlich kalt, vor allem durch den kalten Steinboden. Trotz alle Heizung auf 5 war es ohne warme Klamotten nicht angenehm.

  Super beliggenhed med gode restauranter og byliv i nærheden.
  Faciliteterne var gode i lejligheden. Et plus med opvasker. Check in fungerede godt og der var en p-plads til lejligheden.
  
  What could be improved: Dynerne var tynde og lejligheden var kold ( vi var der i februar)… Så vi frøs om natten.
