Honestly, I almost walked past this place the first time I tried to find it in Winterhude – it’s tucked away in such a quiet residential area that you’d never guess Hamburg’s city center is just a short ride away. But that’s actually what makes HH 05 such a find. The ROCKCHAIR folks have really nailed it with this modern apartment setup, and I mean, a 9.1 rating doesn’t lie.

The moment you step inside, you get why they’re so proud of those premium boxspring beds – I’m usually pretty skeptical about hotel bed claims, but these actually delivered on a good night’s sleep. The sunny balcony they mention? Well, it really is sunny, especially in the mornings when you’re having coffee and watching the neighborhood wake up. Winterhude has this lovely residential vibe where you hear birds instead of traffic, which is rare for Hamburg. The apartment itself feels genuinely modern without being sterile – you know what I mean, like someone actually thought about how people live rather than just cramming in hotel furniture.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how it sits in the city. Winterhude is one of those Hamburg neighborhoods that locals love but tourists often miss – there’s the Stadtpark nearby where people actually jog and have picnics, not just pose for photos. You’re close enough to the Alster to take those scenic walks everyone raves about, but far enough from the Reeperbahn chaos that you can actually sleep through the night. The whole SUPERHOST thing isn’t just marketing fluff either – check-in was smooth, they responded quickly to questions, and honestly, the little touches around the apartment showed someone cares about the experience. Sure, it’s only rated as a 3-star, but sometimes those ratings don’t capture what actually matters when you’re trying to feel at home somewhere for a few days.

  The location was fantastic. Very close to everything you could need. The apartment was well equipped.
  
  What could be improved: If it was a very hot day, apartment 5 would be very hot since it gets all the afternoon sun. There's no air conditioning, although there is a fan. The layout wasn't like the pictures. It was a bit awkward having the table and chairs in the walkway. The chairs were comfortable but very heavy and awkward to move.

  The apartment was renewed and offers everything. The location is nice with good services and transportation.
  
  What could be improved: At our stay, the building was under maintenance so we were awaken by the workers on the balcony and we did not have access to the view. In our apartment we had a wardrobe bed, comfortable but we found a lot of long hair lying behind the head end of it.

  Prettig en licht appartement. Prima bereikbaar met de metro. Het is geen enkel probleem dat het ca 6 km van het centrum van Hamburg ligt, de stad heeft uitstekend OV. Er zijn veel voorzieningen in de buurt (o.a. bakker, supermarkt, restaurant)
