You know what? Hotel Behrmann surprised me in the best possible way. I’ll be honest – when I first saw that 3-star rating, I wasn’t expecting much, but sometimes those mid-range places end up being exactly what you need. The lobby has this old-school European charm that feels authentic rather than trying too hard, with worn leather chairs that actually look comfortable instead of just decorative.

The thing about Hotel Behrmann is that it gets the basics right without any pretense. My room was clean (really clean, not just surface-level), the bed was firm enough that I didn’t wake up with a backache, and – this might sound minor but it matters – the shower had proper water pressure. I mean, you’d be amazed how many places mess that up. The décor is what I’d call “pleasantly dated” – nothing Instagram-worthy, but it has character. Think dark wood furniture and curtains that have probably been there since the 90s, but in a cozy way rather than neglected. The windows are solid too, so even though we were facing what seemed like a busier street, the noise didn’t really penetrate at night.

What impressed me most was the staff – they actually seem to care about doing their jobs well rather than just going through the motions. Check-in was smooth, and when I asked about local dinner spots, the front desk guy (older fellow with glasses) gave me three genuinely good recommendations instead of just pointing to the hotel restaurant. Speaking of which, I skipped breakfast there because honestly, continental breakfast at a 3-star usually means stale pastries and weak coffee, but I noticed other guests seemed happy enough with it. The 7.1 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. I’d definitely book here again if I needed something reliable and reasonably priced in the area.

  I recently stayed at this hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is well-located, with easy access to public transport. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and check-in was smooth.

  What could be improved: I was disappointed that there was no hot water on the first night of my stay. It was a bit uncomfortable, especially after a long day of travel. While the issue was resolved soon, it would be appreciated if the hot water situation is better managed in the future.

  The room was big and cosy, very nicely decorated, with a big balcony and window. Very lovely. It's position is quite perfect, only 500 m away from S-Bahn station Blankenese and several bus stops. There are quite a few restaurants nearby (Peter Pane was especially nice).
  There is a variety of choices for breakfast, accomodating both people who enjoy it savoury and those who like it sweet. There could be a little more baked goods rather than just bread but it was overall very enjoyable. It was a lovely experience and I will definitely come back when I come again to Hamburg
  
  What could be improved: Our room was on the 4th floor without lift so it was a bit tiring to get there.
  Cleanliness could be improved, since we found our bathroom not thoroughly cleaned throughout our stay and on the day before our departure we didn't get clean towels but overall it was clean

  What could be improved: I was in Room 73 in the Annex: from 05.00 in the morning, the traffic noise had woken me up and I could not get back to sleep again.
  I normally wake up 2 or 3 times in the night and have no problem falling asleep again.
  It was not only the traffic but also the road noise of the traffic, which caused me to struggle throughout the day!!!
