So here’s the thing about Hotel Miramar – it’s one of those places that completely surprised me. I mean, you walk in expecting your standard 3-star setup, maybe a little dated, probably fine but nothing special. But honestly? This place punches way above its weight class, and that 8.6 rating actually makes sense once you spend a night or two there.

The lobby hit me first – there’s this warm, lived-in feeling that’s hard to fake. Not fancy, but genuinely welcoming in a way that makes you think the staff actually cares about whether you have a good stay. The woman at check-in (I think her name was Carmen?) knew the neighborhood inside and out, gave me these specific walking directions to a little tapas place around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise. You know what I loved? The rooms are clean and comfortable without trying too hard to be trendy. The beds are actually good – and I’m picky about mattresses – plus there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathroom’s nothing revolutionary, but the water pressure’s solid and everything works properly, which honestly is half the battle with hotels in this price range.

What really won me over was how the place feels during different parts of the day. Mornings are quiet and peaceful – you can hear birds from the courtyard (there’s this little internal garden area that’s pretty charming). Evenings get a bit more lively since there’s a small bar area where guests actually hang out and chat, but it never gets rowdy or obnoxious. The neighborhood itself is perfect if you want to feel like you’re somewhere real rather than tourist central. There’s a market two blocks down where locals do their shopping, and this old guy sells the most incredible fresh bread from a cart that shows up around 7 AM – the hotel staff will tell you about it if you ask. Parking can be a bit tricky during busy periods, but there’s usually street parking within a block or two if you’re patient. I stayed during what I guess was shoulder season and never had major issues. The only minor complaint I’d have is that the WiFi gets a little spotty in some of the rooms facing the back, but it’s fine in the common areas and most of the front-facing rooms. Look, Hotel Miramar isn’t going to blow your mind with luxury amenities or Instagram-worthy design. But it’s got something better – it feels authentic and comfortable, like staying at a well-run place where people actually care about doing things right. For the price point, it’s honestly a steal, especially if you appreciate genuine hospitality over flashy extras.

  The hotel has a beautiful exterior and interior. It’s located in a quiet area, perfect for a peaceful stay.
  
  Despite being on the -1 floor, my room had a nice view of the garden and received plenty of natural light.
  
  The room was clean, comfortable, and included all the amenities as described.
  
  What could be improved: There was no tea or coffee maker in the room, which would have been a nice addition.

  Hotel Manager/Owner could not have been more helpful with check-in and out and providing information on local transportation. The hotel is in beautiful area around ten minutes bus journey from the main railway station and the building itself is renovated to and maintained in a superb condition. Rooms are comfortable, clean and functional. The breakfast offering was adequate but could have benefitted from a greater selection and quantities.
  
  What could be improved: Restricted check-in times however this was made clear at the time of booking and should not detract from the overall review.

  breakfast: various choices with good service/the stuff will ask every customer the choice of coffee and make separately to everyone’s desk/fried eggs can be asked with immediate preparation—we can both feel that the owner is trying to the best to every customer
  
  What could be improved: everything is very good. if I have to say one, it would be better that the heating can be open before our arrival. it took us a long time to feel the room is warm, especially in a high ceiling room

  The room was spotless. Location was good to get to central places. Cozy area. Staff was very kind and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: For work, it is not ideal. The room is not isolated for noise and you can hear every movement from the neighbor room or from the corridor. No coffee/tea possibilities.
