The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – it’s this Swedish concept of “just the right amount,” and honestly, that’s exactly what these apartments deliver. I mean, they’re literally steps from the Barclays Arena, so if you’re catching a concert or game, you’ll be walking back while everyone else is still fighting for taxis. But here’s the thing – even when there’s a massive event going on, the soundproofing is surprisingly decent. I was there during a particularly loud concert (won’t name names, but let’s just say the bass was… intense) and could barely hear it from my room.

The apartments themselves feel more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel. Each unit has this clean, minimalist vibe that’s actually quite cozy – not sterile like some modern places can get. The kitchenettes are properly equipped too, which I appreciated since grabbing breakfast nearby can get pricey, especially on event days when every café jacks up their prices. The beds are comfortable enough that I actually slept in, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t crawl to a halt when everyone in the building tries to upload their concert videos at once. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward hovering around a front desk while they upsell you on room upgrades you don’t need.

What really won me over though was the location beyond just the arena proximity. You’re in this interesting pocket of Hamburg where you can walk to the Reeperbahn if you want that classic Hamburg nightlife experience, but you’re far enough away that you’re not dealing with the chaos unless you choose to. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel – actual residents going about their daily routines, decent Turkish and Vietnamese spots that locals frequent, and a surprising number of green spaces for morning runs. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle on event nights (honestly, just take public transport if there’s something big happening), but otherwise it’s manageable. For a 3-star place pulling a 9.1 rating, Lagom really delivers on that “just right” promise – it’s not trying to be fancy, but it nails the fundamentals while giving you genuine local flavor instead of tourist-trap convenience.

  Cleanliness, location, coziness, comfort, and hospitality of the owner. Actually every things were great. Definitely, I will consider Lagom apartments as a 1st. choice for the future trip to Hamburg.

  I loved the nice shower, fridge and the cutest dishwasher. There was coffee, tea, sugar and everything you need for a little weekend getaway (pans, pots, toaster, paper towels, glasses and utensils). There’s an info folder with addresses for cafes and grocery stores nearby, emergency numbers.
  There were even books (but only in German)! Super clean and cozy
  
  What could be improved: The pillows were the worst, as soon as you lay down all feathers are pushed to the side, very uncomfortable.
  There was no button to turn on ventilation in toilet, it only turn on when you take shower. Also we were woken up two days in a raw in the middle of the night by some blinking lights on the ceiling, probably fire alarm but there was no reason for it to trigger.
