Hotel Description
You know what surprised me most about this loft near Hamburg Hauptbahnhof? How quiet it actually gets at night. I mean, you’d expect constant train noise being that close to Germany’s second-busiest railway station, but honestly – the soundproofing is better than most places I’ve stayed in the city center.
The space itself feels authentically Hamburg industrial, not some designer’s interpretation of what a loft should look like. High ceilings, exposed brick in spots, and these massive windows that flood the place with light during those endless summer days (though fair warning – invest in an eye mask if you’re sensitive to early morning brightness). The kitchen’s got everything you’d actually use – not just the bare minimum most short-term rentals throw in. I ended up cooking way more than planned because, well, the Rewe around the corner has surprisingly good produce, and there’s something satisfying about making coffee with a proper machine instead of those terrible hotel pods.
Location-wise, it’s sort of perfect if you’re the type who likes being connected but not overwhelmed. The Hauptbahnhof means you’re fifteen minutes from pretty much anywhere in Hamburg – Speicherstadt, St. Pauli, even out to Blankenese if you want to escape the city for an afternoon. But here’s the thing locals know: that whole area around Steintorweg has become quietly cool over the past few years. There’s this Turkish bakery two blocks down that does incredible börek (opens ridiculously early, which is perfect if you’re catching a morning train), and honestly some of the best late-night döner I’ve had outside of Berlin. The neighborhood feels lived-in rather than touristy – you’ll hear more German than English on the streets, which I actually love.
Practically speaking, check-in was smooth, though the building entrance is a bit tricky to spot if you’re arriving after dark – it’s one of those typical Hamburg brick buildings where everything looks the same until you find the right door number. No elevator, but it’s only a couple flights up, and the stairwell has this old-school Hamburg charm with original tile work. Parking’s street-side if you’re driving, but honestly, why would you? The S-Bahn connections are so good you can ditch the car entirely.
The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a day or two. It’s not trying to be fancy – no concierge or daily housekeeping – but everything works exactly as it should. Fast wifi, hot water that actually stays hot, and enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. I ended up extending my stay an extra two nights, partly because rebooking was easy, but mostly because it felt like having a temporary life in Hamburg rather than just passing through.

What could be improved: Flat is great. The location less so-not ideal for Young Kids.

Stylish, well-maintained apartment (the pictures on booking.doc provide a very accurate description of the property). Spacious, exceptionally clean, with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. The hosts are very welcoming and responsive to any questions.
Located a short walk from the Central Train Station (ideal if you arrive or depart Hamburg by train) and within walking distance of the city centre.

Spotless apartment, very comfortable and stylish.

Very close to the station, less than 5 minutes walk east, no need for a taxi. It is as described a very large apartment and as soon as I stepped inside I noticed how silent and peaceful it was there. No sounds from outside.
It was clean and new and I loved the windows and one felt very safe and comfortable here. It was easy to get were we wanted from this location too.
We cooked our own food and what was supplied was enough (maybe a few more kitchen tools would be needed). TV worked well. Bathroom was good. Overall very happy!
If you like a lively neighbourhood then this is for you! Supermarket of different styles everywhere and easy to get fresh bread, vegetables, fruit and good so you can cook in the apartment.
Worth it! I would come back here again.
What could be improved: Bed was unfortunately to hard for my preference, but I got by and had some rest and slept well.
The sofa was to small to for a man of my size (regular+) and so was the other furniture and I felt like Gandalf sometimes.
The neighbourhood can be a bit overwhelming at first but! I want you to know that nobody sought contact with us or attempted to disturb our peace entering or exiting the apartment or walking towards the station or doing small errands. (Still I would recommend to have increased awareness. You're a traveler, you know what I mean.)
If the bed + sofa would be upgraded in the future I would give it a 10! Thank you.Concepcion from Netherlands – 19 May 2025 (9/10)

Schönes Loft mit angenehmen Raumklima.
Trotz sehr zentraler Lage, sehr ruhig. Zugang über einen abgeschlossenen Hinterhof.Felix from Germany – 30 March 2025 (10/10)
Johanna from Germany – 22 February 2025 (10/10)
