You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Makro Apartments – the name sounds kind of corporate, honestly – but this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s got that solid 4-star feel without being stuffy about it, and when you see that 9.2 rating, you start to understand why pretty quickly.

The thing about Makro is that someone clearly thought through what travelers actually need, not just what looks good in photos. The apartments themselves feel like someone’s well-appointed home rather than a sterile hotel room – I mean, there’s proper counter space in the kitchenette (revolutionary, I know), and the furniture doesn’t look like it came from the same catalog as every other place. The beds are honestly fantastic, which matters more than people think when you’re dealing with jet lag or long days exploring. I slept better here than I have at places costing twice as much. And the soundproofing is solid – you’re not going to be kept awake by hallway conversations or the elevator constantly dinging.

What really sets this place apart though is the attention to those little details that most places completely ignore. The shower pressure is excellent (seriously, why is this so rare?), there’s actually enough outlets near the bed for your phone and whatever else, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t mysteriously cut out every twenty minutes. Check-in was refreshingly smooth – no endless forms or upselling attempts, just friendly efficiency. The staff seems to genuinely know the area too, not just the tourist trap recommendations everyone gives. They pointed me toward a couple of local spots I never would have found otherwise. Parking was straightforward, which honestly felt like a small miracle. The whole place has this quietly competent vibe – everything just works the way it should, without making a big deal about it. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax instead of constantly problem-solving your accommodation. I’d definitely stay here again, and I’m pretty picky about these things.
