There are small bakeries within walking distance, and the whole area has this calm, tree-lined street atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than just passing through.

The Space Itself

The room setup is where OTTO really delivers on its promise. You’re getting proper apartment-style space with a functional kitchen area — not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation, but actual cooking capability. The design is clean and modern without being sterile, and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days. I mean, for a three-star place, the attention to detail surprised me. Everything from the lighting to the storage solutions just works, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong.

The whole experience feels more like borrowing a friend’s well-organized apartment than staying in a hotel, and that’s clearly intentional. The staff approach is refreshingly low-key — they’re there when you need them but not hovering around trying to upsell you on services. The free parking situation alone saves you probably 15-20 euros a day compared to most Hamburg accommodations, and that adds up quickly. Plus, having that kitchen means you can grab groceries from the nearby shops and actually save money on meals if you want to.

  The apartment is lovely, placed just on the edge of the city centre. You can walk to the nearest U-Bahn for 8 mins. Host even provided parking in front of the house, shared with other tenants.

  Die Lage der Wohnung war für uns perfekt. In 10 Minuten waren wir an der U Bahnhaltestelle und konnten direkt ins Stadtzentrum fahren. Die Wohnung hat 2 Bäder, ideal für 6 Personen.

  What could be improved: Both bathrooms have no privacy as the top glasses of the windows were crystal clear without privacy film, as the glass at the bottom had. Even though the top window couldn’t be visible from the streets, the apartments in the front had same height and their windows could have full visibility into Ottos’. Besides, the en-suite bathroom had no shower stall, which caused water run all over and make a mess.

  The apartment is big and have enough space for 6 people. All the items necessary to cook were there. it is a spacious, comfortable and cleaning apartment. The patio is a really good space to drink something or eat the breakfast.

  Quiet location. Nice and clean! Good kitchen and to be able to wash our clothes. Fantastic service of the staff. Rather far out, but we take either bus or u-bahn very easily. Supermarkets nearby.
