Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first pulled up to Sporthotel Racket Inn, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes these mid-range spots surprise you, and this one actually gets a lot of things right that matter more than thread counts and marble lobbies.

The name pretty much tells you everything you need to know about their focus – this place is all about sports facilities, and they’ve clearly put their money where it counts. The tennis courts are genuinely well-maintained (I mean, they better be with a name like “Racket Inn”), and there’s this nice buzz around the property from people actually using the facilities rather than just lounging by a pool taking selfies. The fitness setup is way better than what you’d expect from a 3-star – not fancy, but everything works and it’s clean. I stayed during what seemed like a busy season and honestly, the energy was kind of infectious. You’ve got people coming back sweaty from morning runs, families dragging tennis rackets through the lobby, that sort of authentic sporty vibe that some of those sterile resort places try to fake but can’t quite pull off.

The rooms are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect for the price point, but in a good way. Nothing revolutionary, but the beds are comfortable enough, the AC works (crucial, especially if you’re planning to be active during the day), and the bathrooms are updated enough that you’re not dealing with weird 1980s fixtures. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – I was worried about noise with all the sports activity, but people seem to crash pretty early after wearing themselves out all day. The staff knows their stuff too, especially when it comes to local sporting venues and where to grab decent food nearby. They’re not trying to oversell you on spa treatments or fancy restaurants – they’ll point you toward the good local spots that won’t break the bank. The 7.5 rating feels about right, honestly. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. If you’re the type who wants to stay active on vacation rather than just vegetate (though honestly, sometimes vegetating is exactly what you need), this place gets it. The price point makes sense, the location works for getting around, and you’ll probably sleep better than you expect after a day of actually moving your body around.

Reviews

  • Sabine from Netherlands – 12 May 2025 (8/10)

The rooms are spacious and have a bath. The location is very quiet. Somewhat old, but clean and functioning. I have not used any facilities other than in the room, but they looked quite ok. (like fitness, tennis court etc)

What could be improved: I had the impression they were unaware of my stay when I checked in. Also on checkout it seems that administration isn't their strongest suit.
Its hard to communicate if they don't speak English. Common in Germany, but considering they are next to an international airport you might have expected more. I therefor had no info on anything considering the facilities.
Also a bit creepy if someone shouts AUSWEIS to you right after memorial day.

  • Tery from United Kingdom – 25 May 2024 (8/10)

Stunning views from room. Sheep & lambs grazing in the fields. Quiet location. Beautiful grounds. Good sports facilities. Benny’s Restaurant served super food. Lovely, friendly staff in restaurant.

What could be improved: Majority of staff welcomed us. Some staff cold & abrupt.

  • Woldekidan from Denmark – 18 July 2022 (7/10)

The room was comfortable with good space. Breakfast was good enough for the price. The stuff was helpful and friendly. All in all it was a good stay and a good place.

What could be improved: Inteternet connection was really bad in my room plus there was no hot water in the shower.

  • Irina from Germany – 13 June 2022 (9/10)

good breakfast, great staff, comfy room with big bathroom, huge fitness area.

  • Rasmussen from Denmark – 11 June 2022 (9/10)

Perfect hotel if you like to play tennis or squash during your holiday. There is also a large fitness facility.

What could be improved: No water boiler in the room.
Restaurant and bar only open in the evening.

  • Edwin from Netherlands – 30 March 2024 (6/10)

What could be improved: The restaurant was closed on arrival, that was a shame..

  • Reinhold from Norway – 29 June 2023 (9/10)

Very good breakfast. Good training facilities. Quit neighbourhood.

What could be improved: A bit grumpy recepionist in the morning, I think she had too much to do and was stressed.

  • Yağmur from Turkey – 19 January 2025 (8/10)

The hotel is very nice. But I especially want to thank the staff. Everyone was very kind and helpful. That's why I extended my stay by one day.

    Excellent sauna and pool

  • Søren from Denmark – 23 April 2023 (8/10)

We liked everything of this place. It's just nice and cosy with a lot of facilities. In fact, we immediatly booked a weekend for our entire family in september. This place has all, we need for activities as well as just relaxing.
