You know what caught me off guard about Studio-Apartment 25 am Saseler Markt? The name makes it sound way more complicated than it actually is. This little place sits right by Saseler Markt, and honestly, that’s the best part about it – you’re basically living like a local in one of Hamburg’s quieter neighborhoods, not dealing with all the tourist chaos downtown.

The retro theme isn’t some cheesy throwback situation either. I mean, yeah, there are vintage touches everywhere, but it feels genuine rather than trying too hard. The studio setup works surprisingly well – everything’s compact but not cramped, if that makes sense. The kitchen area actually has decent counter space (which you don’t always get in these smaller places), and the bed situation is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the mattress all night. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets in the evenings. Saseler isn markt isn’t exactly a party district, so you’ll actually sleep through the night without random street noise keeping you up.

Getting around from here is easier than you’d think, though I’ll be honest – it’s not walking distance to the main Hamburg attractions. But the S-Bahn connections are solid, and there’s something nice about coming back to a residential area after a day of sightseeing. The local market nearby has fresh stuff if you want to cook (and trust me, you’ll want to use that kitchen at least once), plus there are a couple of decent cafes within a few blocks that the guidebooks definitely don’t mention. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in German cities will tell you is worth its weight in gold. For a 3-star spot with an 8 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises – nothing fancy, but everything works, it’s clean, and you’re getting genuine Hamburg neighborhood vibes instead of generic hotel life.

  Quiet area with a supermarket right opposite. Very convenient parking spaces and since we had a car, that was important for us.
  
  What could be improved: The address advertised, Apartment 25 in der Kunaustrasse, is NOT correct. 25 Kunaustrasse is a private residence! You should mention the house number, which is 4c. It took me over two hours to get to the apartment after a couple of calls to Booking.com and Kunaustrasse is a very long street.
  
  The bed was not comfortable at all. It feels like you sink into a hole. Maybe the mattress needs changing or the wooden slats.

  What could be improved: One big and one small towel plus one set of bed linen on arrival and never changed for 3 weeks of stay. Nobody ever showed up to fresh the place up during the entire 3 weeks stay. On departure day, some cleaning lady showed up but did not speak a word of English, German, French. Surely not again.

  Die Lage war super, 2 Min. zum Markt, Supermarkt. Cafés u. Restaurants in der Nähe, ebenso Bushaltestellen.
  
  What could be improved: Die Beschreibung des App. lässt darauf schließen, dass es ein getrenntes Schlafzimmer gibt. Allerdings ist alles in einem Raum untergebracht. Es ist dadurch vollgestopft. Die Matratzen sind weich und zu hoch für den Bettrahmen
