The rooms are honestly better than the star rating suggests. Sure, they’re compact – this isn’t a sprawling resort – but everything’s been thought through. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I appreciated the little touches like decent lighting for reading and outlets where you actually need them. The bathroom’s small but functional, with a shower that has proper water pressure. What I really liked was how quiet it stayed at night; you’d think with the urban location there’d be more street noise, but either the windows are better than expected or they just picked a good spot. Check-in was smooth too – no standing around for twenty minutes while they “find your reservation.”

Here’s the thing about the niu Keg that’ll matter to most travelers: it feels like they know who they’re serving. This isn’t trying to be a luxury experience, and it’s not pretending to be a hostel either. It’s for people who want a clean, comfortable place to sleep without paying through the nose, but who also appreciate when someone’s put actual thought into the design. The common areas are genuinely usable – I saw people working on laptops and hanging out, not just rushing through. The staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood too, which is rarer than it should be. I’d definitely stay here again, especially considering what you get for the price point.
