You know what caught me off guard about Wohnen in der Bürgermeistervilla? The name literally means “Living in the Mayor’s Villa,” and honestly, that’s exactly what it feels like. I mean, you’re staying in what was actually someone’s grand old house – probably built when mayors had serious style and even more serious budgets.

The whole place has this lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake. Sure, it’s officially a 3-star, but those ratings don’t always tell the whole story. Walking through the front door, you get hit with that particular smell of old wood and fresh coffee that only happens in places with real history. The floorboards creak in just the right way – not annoying, more like the house is saying hello. And the rooms? They’re nothing like your standard hotel box. Each one feels different because, well, they actually are different. Some have these impossibly high ceilings with original moldings, others tuck under the eaves with dormer windows that frame whatever view you’ve lucked into. The furnishings are this interesting mix of antique pieces (that might actually be original to the house) and modern necessities that someone clearly put thought into choosing.

What really sold me on the place was how the staff treats it – and you. They genuinely seem to care about the building and its story, which makes them better at helping you figure out your own stay. Check-in felt more like being welcomed into someone’s home than processing through a hotel desk. The woman who showed me around pointed out little details I would’ve missed – like the original tile work in the main hallway and why certain doors are shorter than you’d expect (apparently people were just smaller back then). Parking was easier than I expected, too – there’s space behind the building that’s not immediately obvious from the street. The 8.3 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there for a day or two. It’s not flashy or trying to impress anyone, but everything works the way it should. The WiFi actually reaches every corner, the shower pressure is surprisingly good for an old building, and – this might sound weird – but the whole place is just quiet in the evenings. Not dead quiet, but that comfortable kind where you can hear life happening without feeling like you’re in the middle of it. It’s the sort of place where you end up staying an extra day just because leaving feels unnecessarily complicated.

  The host was friendly and good at communicating. The flat was very warm and had enough space for 5 adults and 1 toddler. The dishwasher and washing machine were a great extra. The flat was easy to get to from the airport and well connected to the town center via bus (about 40 min). Groceries were also within walking distance.
  
  What could be improved: One of the day beds had broken slats.

  Nice comfortable living room with a good TV and lots of channels.
  Kitchen is nicely equipped with dishes and utensils.
  Beds are okay, a little soft for middel aged backs 🙂
  Towels with a piece of chocolate for everyone provided.
  
  What could be improved: Coffee!
  We are travelling and didn't have any food with us, a cup of coffee in the morning would have been great!
  A bathroom carpet would be really nice.
  If a hotel had been available, we would have booked one, this was the best alternative we could find. And it's not quite a hotel.

  The apartment was so nice, clean & well organised. We felt like we were at home & it was in the center of the city, there were shops & markets all around the apartment, from groceries to bakeries, from convenience stores to shopping malls, everything was in a few steps, even restaurants were closer.
  
  And what to say about the apartment, because it was just WoW, & the free parking lot was also like a gift.
  
  If there was the ratings more than 10, then I would definitely give the ratings beyond.
  
  In this cost, I recommend it to everyone to enjoy the tranquil enviroment, luminous & panoramic view of this perfect apartment.

  Location is good. House had all amenities. Price was fair. Check in instructions were super clear.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing to write here. Just a recommendation: since summer months are hot, it would be nice if some sort of fan is provided.

  The Apartment was very cozy and spacious. Our family truly enjoyed staying. The location was perfect for travelling via car or public transport, either way you can reach the city center easily. The host was very helpful and quick whenever we had any questions. Parking in the back of the house was also very convenient.
