You’re about a five-minute walk to the Alster lakes, which is where Hamburg really shows off — especially in the morning when the mist rolls off the water. The area has this great mix of authentic German cafes and international spots, plus you’ll find actual grocery stores nearby (trust me, that matters when you’re staying in an apartment). The couples who stay here absolutely rave about the location, and I get it — there’s something romantic about wandering these tree-lined streets.

What You’re Actually Getting

This three-star property gives you proper apartment-style accommodations, which means you get more space than your typical hotel room. Each unit comes with a small kitchen setup — nothing elaborate, but enough to make coffee in the morning or heat up leftovers from that amazing Turkish place around the corner. The furnishings are modern and functional, though don’t expect anything Instagram-worthy. What I appreciated was how everything actually worked properly — the Wi-Fi, the heating, the shower pressure. Sometimes the basics done well beat fancy amenities that don’t function.

Getting Around and Practical Stuff

Here’s where this place really shines — you can walk to the Speicherstadt (those famous red brick warehouses) in about fifteen minutes, or hop on public transport right outside your door. The U-Bahn connections are fantastic, and if you’re planning day trips to places like Lübeck, you’re already at the main station. Parking can be tricky in this area, but honestly, you won’t need a car. I actually saw more guests using the nearby bike rental stations than worrying about driving anywhere.

  Location 2 minutes from north entrance Hamburg Hauptbahnhof was sensational. Apartment 1 was completely quiet, with masses of space and light. But check in was a nightmare. I had to ring a number to get the key code and I could not understand the speaker, especially standing on a busy traffic street. They should send the code by email or text. Kitchen equipment was not very clean. Microwave and toaster did not work. But the view of next door courtyard was nice .

  – Apartment is big and have lots of sleeping places. Perfect for a big family or group of friends

  – location is just perfect, near train station and old town. Lots of things to do around.
  – while I mentioned some negative points below, in general it's a great place to stay with good value for money.
  
  What could be improved: Just a few small things…
  – Found a bit weird the location of the TV and the fact that for such a big apartment, there is only one small TV.
  – There is only one key for the door. When you are a big group and have different plans, that is a bit inconvenient.
  – No hooks in the bathroom. Struggled to find the place to hang the towels. Small thing, but can be very annoying.
  – there is no elevator and high stairs. Not something that can be changed and was not a problem for us, but for some might find that inconvenient.

  The location was fabulous and the beautiful old style apartment was very spacious with comfortable beds. Excellent shower. Lots of old world charm.
  
  What could be improved: The steep staircase going up to the apartment, the run down entrance and the unstable washing machine that shook and moved.

  The apartment is clean and basic. Only about 200m from the central station.
  The bed is comfortable and the room was warm during winter.
  There is a washing machine but it wasn’t working during our stay.
  
  What could be improved: There is no exhaust in the kitchen so we need to close the door and open the window.
  
  High stairs. Very difficult to haul a 23kg luggage so we were glad that Ahmoud the host were there to help us.

  Clean, well appointed, lovely hot shower, lovely big bright room and cosy kitchen, comfortable beds, great location. It was really good value for money. A great spot for a family.
