Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about City Center Unique Boutique Apartment? The name actually delivers on its promise – and honestly, that’s rare these days. I mean, how many places throw around “unique” and “boutique” without having much to back it up? But this little 3-star gem really does feel different from your typical cookie-cutter hotel experience.

Walking in, you immediately get that apartment vibe they’re going for. It’s not trying to be some grand lobby with marble everywhere – instead, you feel like you’re staying at a well-traveled friend’s place who happens to have impeccable taste. The spaces have this lived-in comfort that makes you want to kick off your shoes and actually relax, which I appreciate after dealing with those sterile chain hotels that feel like fancy waiting rooms. The 8.3 rating makes total sense once you settle in because while it’s not luxury-level perfect, everything just… works. You’ll find thoughtful touches throughout – decent coffee setup, proper lighting for actually reading, outlets where you need them (thank god).

What really won me over was how the place manages to feel central without that constant city buzz that keeps you up at night. I expected more street noise given the location, but the windows do their job surprisingly well. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that drawn-out process where they try to upsell you on seventeen different packages. The staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how often that’s not the case. They pointed me toward this little café around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise, and honestly, those kinds of insider tips make all the difference when you’re trying to get a feel for an area. Sure, it’s not going to blow your mind with amenities – there’s no spa or rooftop bar or whatever – but that’s sort of the point. Sometimes you just want a really solid base camp that doesn’t break the bank, somewhere you can spread out your stuff and feel human again between exploring. This place nails that balance perfectly.

Reviews

Great location and host. Host was very helpful and flexible with check in time and luggage storage (which is unmonitored), which we were very grateful for. Close to great restaurants, and right above the S-Bahn entrance, only one stop from Hauptbahnhof (Central station) and Landungsbrücken (ferries and great restaurants). Just a few points to note: the unit is right above the entrance to the S-Bahn station, so you will hear some rumbling from the trains. The blinds are fine, but are not room darkening. Also, to get in the apartment’s main entrance, you need to press a buzzer. On the weekends, you might hear buzzing at all times of the night from other residents (we heard buzzing until at least 1:30 am). None of this bothered us, and we enjoyed our stay, but light sleepers should take note.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

Wonderful location, just above the S1 train station – perfect for the airport. Twenty minutes on foot from just about everything. The room was very clean and extremely quiet (facing inner garden). Check-in was very easy and the owner was always available via messages/whatsapp. I would gladly book it again.

What could be improved: A touch of warmth and coziness would have been nice. I know Hamburg is expensive, but one would expect that little something more for that price. No hairdryer, no coffee or tea, no fridge.

  • Nb from United States – 7 April 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is well located for enjoying the city. The transport system is fantastic. Our host Roy was very accessible and committed to making our time in Hamburg a positive experience. When we had a schedule issue, he listened to us, and we found a compromise that satisfied everyone.

What could be improved: I wish our host could have done something about the rain. We were 6 out of 6 days with rain. Also, we were expecting a kitchenette –which Roy has in some of his properties, not all — but we didn't notice that the kitchenette was not in the flat we chose. I think the filters in booking.com make it too easy for that mistake to be made. But aside from that, the flat is comfy and Roy was helpful and friendly.

  • Carole from United Kingdom – 10 December 2024 (7/10)

Perfect location for the S- Bahn
Perfect location for the Christmas Markets in the centre of Hamburg.

What could be improved: Bathroom light switch was faulty.
Shower drainage was slow and needed cleaning.

  • Peter from United Kingdom – 14 September 2024 (7/10)

    Fantastic location

  • Marina from Netherlands – 18 January 2024 (8/10)

The room was clean and cozy and well located.

What could be improved: We were a bit surprised and disappointed when we arrived, that the place was actually a room with in suite bathroom rather than a one bedroom apartment with a living room and kitchen. For one night this is not a big issue but could be if you book for longer time, and of course the feeling of being lied is not very nice.

  • Morten from Denmark – 15 April 2024 (7/10)

The location is great and the owner is very helpful and communication is good. The option for car parking is great.

What could be improved: The price is quite high, but comparable to other similar places.
There was missing bedsheets for the third person even though we were promised that it would be there.

  • Neville from United Kingdom – 16 February 2025 (9/10)

Really clean great location good WiFi

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Sorina from Romania – 27 January 2025 (9/10)

very spacious apartment, nicely decorated. loved the big windows and comfy couch. the location is excellent, very close to some of the nicest neighborhoods in Hamburg, as well as any shop you might need, and train station as well.

What could be improved: as any apartment / airbnb, the host has more work to do than when booking hotels. the price point, in this case, didn’t seem to be worth the hassle.

  • Irfan from Pakistan – 9 January 2025 (9/10)

Host is very nice and help full. Close to all attractions.

    What could be improved: Nothing
