You know what? When I first saw the name “Ferienwohnung Reeperbahn Ecke Große Freiheit,” I honestly thought someone was pulling my leg. I mean, staying right at the corner where the Reeperbahn meets Große Freiheit – that’s literally the epicenter of Hamburg’s notorious nightlife district. But here’s the thing that surprised me: this 3-star apartment actually works brilliantly if you know what you’re getting into.

The location is absolutely wild – and I don’t just mean the obvious stuff with all the clubs and bars downstairs. You’re basically in the heart of St. Pauli, which means you can stumble to the fish market on Sunday morning (trust me, it’s worth the hangover), and you’re maybe a 10-minute walk to the harbor where all the tourist boats leave for the port tours. The apartment itself sits right above all the action, so yeah, it gets loud – especially Thursday through Saturday nights. I actually found it kind of energizing, but if you’re someone who needs absolute quiet to sleep, maybe pack some serious earplugs or consider staying elsewhere. The building has that typical Hamburg brick facade, and honestly, from the outside you’d never guess there’s a decent place to stay tucked in there among all the neon signs.

What really impressed me was how clean and well-maintained everything was inside – that 9.1 rating isn’t just a fluke. The previous guests clearly weren’t your typical rowdy party crowd trashing the place. The apartment has this practical, no-nonsense setup that works perfectly for a few nights. You’ve got a proper kitchen (which is clutch because grabbing breakfast in this neighborhood can be… interesting), and the shower has actual decent water pressure. The windows are surprisingly good at blocking out some of the street noise when you close them, though you’ll still hear the bass lines from the clubs below. Check-in was smooth – they’ve got it figured out even with all the chaos happening on the street level. Parking is basically impossible right there (I mean, it’s the Reeperbahn), but there’s a garage about two blocks away that’s not too brutal price-wise.

Here’s what I’d tell anyone considering this place: if you want to experience Hamburg’s nightlife without having to deal with taxis or figure out the late-night transit situation, this spot is actually genius. You’re also walking distance to some surprisingly good restaurants once you get off the main strip – there’s this Turkish place on a side street that locals actually go to, not just tourists. The apartment works great as a base for exploring the rest of Hamburg too, since you’re well-connected to public transport. Just don’t expect a quiet, romantic getaway – this is for people who want to be in the thick of things and maybe stumble home at 3 AM without worrying about how they’re getting back to their hotel.

  Super freundlicher Empfang der Gastgeberin, hat uns auch gleich auf die "Widrigkeiten" aufmerksam gemacht, die aber vorher auch schon so in der Anzeige standen. Wir waren mit 3 Personen und jeder hatte sein eigenes Zimmer zum schlafen. Die Wohnung war modern ausgestattet und sehr sauber.

  Die Ferienwohnung hat eine sehr interessante Lage, vom Balkon schaut man links auf die Reeperbahn, geradeaus auf den Beatlesplatzund rechts auf die große Freiheit. Das hat Flair. Die Wohnung ist schön und funktional. Sehr gut hat uns gefallen, das vieles, was den Aufenthalt komfortabel macht einfach vorhanden war.
