Hotel Description

You know what surprised me about Hamburg Nord Apartments? It’s actually one of those places that feels way better than its three-star rating suggests – honestly, I’ve stayed in plenty of four-star hotels that didn’t have half the character this place does. The whole setup is in one of those classic Hamburg brick buildings that you see all over the northern districts, and there’s something really satisfying about the solid thunk the front door makes when you walk in.

The apartments themselves are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple” – nothing fancy, but everything works exactly like it should. The kitchenettes are actually functional (I mean, you can cook real meals, not just heat up instant noodles), and the beds are surprisingly comfortable for what you’d expect at this price point. I stayed on the third floor and could hear the trams rolling by in the morning, but it’s more of a gentle city hum than anything disruptive. The windows are proper double-glazed, so if you’re sensitive to noise, just close them up at night and you’ll sleep fine. What really got me was how clean everything was – like, spotless in a way that tells you the housekeeping staff actually cares about their work.

The location is where this place really shines, though locals probably take it for granted. You’re right in the heart of Hamburg Nord, which means you’re close enough to walk to Stadtpark when the weather’s decent (about fifteen minutes if you don’t mind a pleasant stroll), but far enough from the touristy areas that you get a real feel for how people actually live here. There’s a fantastic bakery literally around the corner – I’m talking proper German bread that’ll ruin grocery store loaves for you forever – and the U-Bahn connection gets you downtown in maybe twenty minutes. The staff speaks excellent English, but they’re not overly chatty in that forced hospitality way; they’re just genuinely helpful when you need something. Check-in was smooth, they gave me actual useful recommendations (not just the standard tourist traps), and when my shower head got a bit loose on day three, maintenance fixed it within an hour. That 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be something it isn’t, but what it does, it does really well.

  Good location – 30 minutes from the airport by public transport and with quick access to other locations, good internet, quiet and peaceful place, clean, well furnished.

  The location of the apartment was excellent and very good for buses into the city centre, it was close to our family who lived nearby.
  
  What could be improved: My wife says that leaving a brush to brush up would have been more useful than the small hand held one you left.

  The apartment was just as described, very clean and well equipped with all essentials. Also the baby crib we requested was great. Washing mashine has convenient short programs (15-30 minutes), so this was a perfect asset to have during our stay!
  
  What could be improved: The bed has 2 mattresses, and the crack in the middle was a bit uncomfortable. A king size mattress would be much more comfortable.

  The room exceeded our expectations in every way.
  Even the smallest details were thoughtfully provided , from coffee capsules for the coffee machine, to a toaster, electric kettle, dishwasher, and a fully equipped kitchen including essentials like salt, pepper, and sugar.
  The room was exceptionally clean and well-organized upon arrival, and the heating and cooling system was perfectly set up and functional.

  I really like this room. I stayed here for two weeks. Everything was clean and comfortable. Grocery store is across the street. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a longer stay.

  It’s one of the best apartments I’ve stayed in. It was warm, clean, great design of the space. It has all the necessary amenities and very responsive host. I could only say good things about this place.

  we know Hamburg well & once we found the apartment we were fine, with buses & Lidl less than 5 minutes away!

  2 very minor things which can easily be put right before Christmas I hope:
  
  The shower head needed a good clean &
  
  the cooker area is very slightly lower than the washing up basin & draining board, so putting the kettle base on the cooker area – where we found it, meant it got slightly wet underneath – which could be an electrical matter and / or fire risk if it were plugged in at the time of use.

  Room was very clean. Location of the apartment is great, 1 min walk to bus station and you can reach to city center with 1 bus, only took half an hour. Also Lidl supermarket very close to apartment, you can get everything you need easily. Bed was very comfortable and keyless enterence was very easy. If I would visit the Hamburg again, this place will be my first choice.
