You know what caught me off guard about Haus am Deich 47? It’s one of those places that actually lives up to its name – this really is a stylish countryside house right by the Elbe, and somehow they’ve managed to keep it feeling like a proper home rather than just another hotel trying too hard to be boutique-y. The building itself has this understated elegance that works perfectly with the riverside setting, and honestly, when you’re sitting outside in the evening watching the river flow by, you sort of forget you’re still close enough to pop into the city center whenever you want.

The location is pretty brilliant if you think about it – you get that peaceful, almost rural vibe (the morning sounds are mostly birds and the occasional boat on the Elbe), but you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere. I mean, you can actually walk along the dike path for ages in either direction, which is something locals do religiously, especially on weekends. The rooms have this comfortable, lived-in feel without being cluttered – they’ve clearly put thought into the details without making it feel staged. The beds are properly comfortable, and the windows actually open wide enough to get that river air flowing through, which you’ll appreciate on warm nights. Parking was straightforward, which isn’t always a given around here, and check-in felt more like arriving at a well-organized friend’s place than dealing with hotel bureaucracy.

What really sells this place, though, is how it hits that sweet spot between being special enough for a proper getaway but practical enough that you’re not constantly worried about breaking something expensive or following too many house rules. The 9.7 rating makes sense when you spend time here – it’s not flashy or trying to impress you with unnecessary bells and whistles, but everything just works the way it should. The riverside location means you can have your morning coffee while watching the Elbe do its thing, and there’s something genuinely relaxing about being right on the water without the chaos you’d get at a big resort. If you’re looking for that balance between countryside peace and staying connected to city life, this place gets it right in a way that feels natural rather than calculated.

  Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The area that the house is in is beautiful. You are very close to three supermarkets. Thirty minutes drive into the centre of Hamburg or a fifteen minute drive to the railway station. Would definitely stay here again.   Wir waren selten in einem so geschmackvoll – bis in die Details – gestalteten Ferienhaus, es hat uns wirklich ausgesprochen gut gefallen, es war geräumig und komfortabel. Der Vermieter war sehr gut erreichbar und stand jederzeit mit Hilfe und Tipps zur Verfügung. Wir waren für den HAMBURGMARATHON in der Stadt. Zu diesem Zweck war das Haus ein idealer Ausgangspunkt (S-Bahn fährt bis zum Start) und wir durften nach dem Lauf in der Unterkunft duschen. Besser geht es nicht. Die Gegend an der Elbe ist auch wunderschön und eignet sich hervorragend zum trainieren, (Rennrad)fahren oder für Radtouren. Die Verkehrsanbindung in Richtung Süden ist ebenfalls hervorragend, da man sich die vielen Staus in und um Hamburg erspart. Alles in allem eine super Unterkunft für Aktive, die nicht zwangsläufig in der Innenstadt übernachten wollen.
  
  What could be improved: Wer direkt in der Stadt sein möchte, ist hier bestimmt an der falschen Adresse, die Stadt ist aber mit der Straßenbahn (ab Station Bergedorf, Parkticket Tag 2€ NVV Tageskarte 15€ für 5 Personen) für unsere Begriffe gut und günstig an HH angeschlossen. Man ist sowohl mit der Bahn, als auch mit dem Auto in knapp 30 Minuten mitten in der Stadt (Parkhaus Elbphilharmonie/Hafencity)! Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in komfortabler Nähe.

  Das Haus hat uns vom ersten Augenblick an begeistert. Die Einrichtung ist super , alles was man braucht ist vorhanden .
