Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first heard “Leonardo Hotel Hamburg Stillhorn,” I had to look up where Stillhorn actually was. It’s tucked away in the southern part of Hamburg, and honestly, that turned out to be one of its best features. You’re about 15 minutes from the city center by car, but you know what? Sometimes you don’t want to be right in the thick of everything.

The hotel itself has that modern business hotel vibe – nothing too fancy, but everything works the way it should. Check-in was smooth (I mean, it’s a 4-star Leonardo property, so they’ve got their systems down), and the lobby has this clean, contemporary feel without being sterile. The rooms are what you’d expect – decent size for Hamburg standards, good beds, and the bathrooms are actually pretty nice. I stayed on the third floor and it was properly quiet at night, which is something I always worry about with business hotels. The Wi-Fi was solid too, worked fine for video calls during the day.

What really grew on me was the location, honestly. Stillhorn isn’t touristy at all – it’s more of a working neighborhood with the port nearby, so you get this authentic Hamburg feel that you miss when you’re staying right by the Speicherstadt with all the other visitors. There’s a decent restaurant in the hotel, nothing spectacular but the breakfast was actually pretty good – proper German bread, decent coffee, fresh fruit. The parking situation is straightforward too, which if you’ve ever tried to park in central Hamburg, you’ll appreciate that more than you might think. I ended up driving into the city center a couple times, and it’s really not bad – just hop on the A1 and you’re there. The staff seemed to know their way around the city pretty well when I asked for recommendations, which always makes a difference. Overall, it’s one of those places that does what it promises without any drama – comfortable, clean, professionally run. The 7.7 rating feels about right to me.

  Ideally located for getting public transport into hamburg. Great staff. Breakfast excellent. Room huge, bit hot and no air con in ours, with window open bit noisy as near motorway, other than that fab.

  The hotel is outside the city, so it's quiet and surrounded by nature, easily accessible over highway. The rooms are big and they even left a little welcome plate with a piece of cake for our arrival. The parking lot is large and costs 8€ per day. The breakfast is very rich and you can choose from a wide variety of products. The bed was comfortable. There is also a coffee machine in the room and a nice bar in the lobby with a good selection of drinks/cocktails. As well as a small 24/7 opened little kiosk with a snacks etc.
  The only thing I didn't like is the fact that there is no bedside table on one side so I had my phone on the floor. The TV is a bit old so there was no way to connect the phone to it.

  Friendly staff. Nice rooms. Ability to accommodate 3 of us together in one room. Good Gym gym and nice treadmill – always found it available. Good security. Just off motorway.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing really. Others may have different wants and needs but I find the hotel suits us for an overnight stop on the way to Scandinavia. Were have stayed there for quite a few years now and have always been happy.
