Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name actually undersells it. LOFT-Panoramablick-HAFEN & ELBE sounds like someone just mashed together every German word they could think of for “nice view,” but honestly – the panorama thing is legit. I mean, you’re getting those sweeping harbor and Elbe River views that make Hamburg feel like it’s showing off just for you.

The loft setup works really well here, and I think it’s because they didn’t try to cram too much into the space. You’ve got these big windows that basically become the main feature of the room, and during golden hour (which happens ridiculously late in summer if you’re not used to northern Germany), the whole place just glows. The harbor gets busy around 6 AM with the shipping activity, but it’s more interesting than annoying – sort of like having a constantly changing painting outside your window. I actually found myself getting up early just to watch the container ships navigate the Elbe, which is definitely not something I expected to be doing on vacation.

What I really appreciated was how they handled the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. Check-in was smooth, parking situation is sorted (which anyone who’s driven in Hamburg’s harbor district will tell you is not a given), and the soundproofing is surprisingly good considering you’re right in the thick of things. The 4-star rating feels accurate – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but everything works the way it should. That 8.9 guest rating makes sense too, because this is one of those places where the location does most of the heavy lifting, but the execution backs it up. The neighborhood has that industrial-chic thing happening that Hamburg does so well, where old warehouse districts transform into these cool waterfront areas without losing their character. You’re close enough to walk to the Speicherstadt if you want the full UNESCO World Heritage experience, but far enough from the tourist crowds that you feel like you’ve found something a bit more authentic.

  The view was amazing! Couldn’t ask for a more convenient place —to the harbor, the ferry, ferry access to the metro. The apartment very spacious! Restaurants nearby. Sunday fish market right outside the building!
  
  What could be improved: Prepare yourself for a bit of a workout. It is 5 flights up with no lift. Fortunately our group was in good enough shape, but would be problematic for anyone with physical challenges.

  The view and the location
  The property let us amend our accomodation dates due to the train strike which was appreciated.
  
  What could be improved: No hot water in the kitchen or in the second bathroom
  Apartment was advertised with bath this is one of the reasons we booked this particular apartment. No working plug was provided so we were unable to use the bath. We telephoned and requested that the above issues be fixed. But request wasn’t actioned on. Only 1 dishwasher Tablet provided for 4 people coupled with watered down dishwashing liquid. Otherwise very nice.

  What could be improved: There was no mention in the add that there was no lift I had to carry 4 suitcases up and down 5 floors off stairs which was very exhausting and it doesn’t help if you got bad joints the other thing the add didn’t tell you that if your staying over the weekend there is a drinking hall right across from it that has music playing till late and at 5.30 onwards on a Sunday morning you got the screaming from the market that is on every Sunday morning till 11am

  Die Lage des Apartments war klasse, der Blick aus dem Fenster war genial. Super Anbindung an Bus, Fähre, S und U Bahn. Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Betten waren bequem. In der Küche hat man alles vorgefunden was für einen Aufenthalt benötigt wird.

  Das war dann doch mal eine Wohnung nach unserem Geschmack. Für einen Hamburg Trip ideal. Wohnung super mit super Ausstattung, direkt an der Fischhalle, Haltestelle Fähre vor der Tür, Bäcker vor der Tür, Parkmöglichkeiten auf verschiedenen Preislevel, unweit Landungsbrücken, diverse Restaurants fussläufig erreichbar. Herz was willst Du mehr.
  
  What could be improved: Das gerade bei unserem Besuch an der Telefonleitung Baumassnahmen durchgeführt wurden und das Streamen gerade beim Fussball manchmal stockte. Aber dafür kann ja der Vermieter nichts.
