Here’s the thing about the location that took me a day to figure out: you’re positioned perfectly between the tourist stuff and actual Hamburg life. The U-Bahn connection isn’t right outside your door, but there’s a bus stop that gets you to Kellinghusenstraße station in maybe eight minutes. From there, you can hit the Speicherstadt or St. Pauli without much hassle. But honestly, some of my best meals happened just wandering the neighborhood – there’s this Vietnamese place on Mühlenkamp that locals line up for, and a bakery that does these incredible weekend brunch spreads. The 7.5 rating makes sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. It’s comfortable, the host responds quickly to messages, and you get that authentic “living in Hamburg” feeling without paying boutique hotel prices.
