I mean, you’re not in the thick of tourist central, which honestly worked in my favor. The area has this lived-in feel with proper German bakeries and corner shops where people actually go about their daily lives.

The room setup here is what really sets this place apart from standard hotel boxes. You get a proper living area that doesn’t feel cramped, and the kitchen is actually functional — not just some mini-fridge situation. I ended up cooking a couple of meals, which saved money and felt more natural than eating out every night. The top floor position means the space gets good natural light during the day, and the windows open properly so you can get fresh air flowing through. It’s the kind of setup where you could easily stay for a week without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase.

Practical Details

Getting around from here is straightforward once you figure out the local transport rhythm. There’s decent parking if you’re driving, though I’d honestly recommend using public transport since Hamburg’s system works well from this area. The building itself is quiet — being on the top floor means you don’t get footsteps above you, which made a real difference for sleeping. The neighborhood has everything you need within walking distance, including a proper supermarket and some solid local spots for dinner when you don’t feel like cooking.

What really clicks here is the combination of space, location, and that residential feeling that’s hard to find in traditional hotels. Couples seem to particularly appreciate having room to spread out and the option to cook together — there’s something romantic about making breakfast while looking out over Hamburg’s rooftops.   Es ist eine wirklich schöne kleine Wohnung mit allem, was man im Urlaub so benötigt Man hat auch einen schönen Ausblick, wenn auch nicht auf Wasser oder andere Sehenswürdigkeiten in Hamburg, trotzdem schön. Für Rollstuhlfahrer könnten die Außen- und die Wohnungstür ein Problem darstellen, die Wohnung an sich ist jedoch komplett barrierefrei und auch stufenlos erreichbar. Nur ein paar Meter entfernt befindet sich ein Discounter.
  
  What could be improved: Die Lage fand ich nicht sonderlich toll und dafür fand ich den Preis auch etwas zu hoch. Aber vielleicht habe ich da unrealistische Erwartungen.
  Und es war sehr schade, dass man die tolle Dachterrasse nicht nutzen kann/darf, aber das hat mit Sicherheit gute Gründe.

  The apartment was small but comfortable. Parking was much easier than expected, although a bit weird. The street in front of the apartment changes from one to two lanes according to the time of the day. So between 6:00 and 9:00 you couldn't park on one side of the street and between 15:00 and 19:00 you couldn't park on the other side. But you can easily move your car and it's free parking. It takes a while to get into the city by public transport but there are bus stops around the corner, so it's easy. The Aldi supermarket is only a few meters from the apartment, which is very convenient. There's also a McDonalds around the corner.
  
  What could be improved: We didn't have a lot of contact with the hosts. We asked about the parking, but they couldn't really give us any useful information. It felt a bit weird that on the day of arrival, we were asked for a deposit by credit card since we'd already finalized the booking and it wasn't mentioned before. Also, the apartment has a lovely balcony but you can't access it. The windows will only tilt, but not open fully. That was a big minus for us.

  Die Unterkunft war hervorragend und schön modern eingerichtet. Der Zugang zum Appartment war sehr einfach.

  Nice view from the top floor! Great place if you need to have a place in that part of Hamburg, check in was contactless.
  
  There was a little welcome present in the form of drinks and snacks, which I appreciated.
  
  Kitchen is equipped well for cooking.
  
  What could be improved: I had some initial trouble to get in, as apparently, the door code mechanism does not indicate that the door is open and the door somehow opens in an unexpected direction, so I was pulling when I needed to push (or the other way around, don't remember exactly.
  
  If I was to ad some suggestions for improvement, I would say add some kitchen basics like oil, salt, pepper, sugar. There was coffee, but no sugar/whitener.
  
  Also, while there was an iron, I did not find an ironing board.

  An excellent and valuable alternative to a conventional hotel room. Really cool and new truly "urban" apartment, central but still quiet on the 6th floor. I am often in Hamburg and will definitely come back!
