You know what really surprised me about Ferienwohnungen Legienstraße? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be fancy, but somehow gets all the basics so right that you actually end up loving it more than some of the flashier hotels I’ve stayed at. I mean, when you first walk up, it’s pretty understated – just a solid building on what turns out to be a really quiet residential street. But that’s actually part of its charm, honestly.

The apartments themselves are what Germans do best – functional in the most comfortable way possible. Everything’s clean and well-maintained, with those sturdy European fixtures that’ll probably outlast us all. The kitcens are actually usable (not like those joke kitchenettes you sometimes get), and I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because, well, why not? There’s something really satisfying about making coffee in your own space, especially when you can sit by the window and watch the neighborhood wake up. The Wi-Fi works properly throughout – I was on calls from the bedroom without any issues, which honestly is more than I can say for some four-star places I’ve been to.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Legienstraße isn’t one of those main thoroughfares, so you don’t get the constant traffic noise, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I walked to the nearest tram stop in about five minutes, and there’s a decent bakery just around the corner where the owner started recognizing me by day three (and yes, their pretzels are worth getting up early for). Parking was straightforward too – street parking right outside, and the locals seem pretty relaxed about it. Check-in was refreshingly simple; none of that overly formal hotel desk drama, just someone who clearly knew the building well and gave me actual useful tips about the area. The 8.2 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury experience, but for what it is, it delivers really solidly. If you’re the type of traveler who values having your own space, a proper kitchen, and being in an actual neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble, this place hits that sweet spot between comfort and authenticity.

  Die Wohnung war sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Alles war für einen schönen Aufenthalt vorhanden. Die Schlüsselbox war unkompliziert zu Öffnen. Wir wurden über Neuigkeiten über E-Mail schnell informiert.

  Die Anreise hat super geklappt. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber. Die Anbindung mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln ist gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

  Außenwände waren sehr kalt, Badezimmer ist stark angelaufen, da geheizt wurde.

  Udlejer gav god information forud for lejemålet, og systemet med nøgle i nøgleboks sørgede for nem ankomst. Lejligheden har gode senge og rar opholdsstue. Området er roligt og det er nemt at finde gratis parkering. Beliggenheden ca. 10 min. gang fra U bahn er fin. (Pga sporarbejder skulle vi med bus de første stationer, og det fungerede fint)
  
  What could be improved: Der mangler ordentlige skæreknive, bordskånere og grydelapper, men ellers er køkkenudstyret OK i lyset af at det blot er en feriebolig.
