You know what caught me off guard about Naturnahes Heimatbasis? The name literally means “nature-close home base” in German, and honestly, they nailed it. This isn’t one of those places that throws around nature buzzwords while you’re staring at a parking lot – when you wake up here, you’re actually surrounded by greenery that makes you want to breathe deeper.

The whole setup feels deliberately unpretentious, which I mean in the best possible way. It’s a solid 3-star place that knows exactly what it is and doesn’t try to be something fancier. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that reminds me of staying at a well-traveled friend’s house – everything works, it’s clean, but there’s character in the slightly mismatched furniture and the way morning light hits the windows just right. The 7.9 rating makes total sense because while it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, it gets all the important stuff right. Hot water pressure’s actually decent (you’d be surprised how many places mess this up), and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up with that hotel back ache.

What really sets this place apart is how it feels like a proper launching pad for exploring rather than somewhere you’d want to hole up for a spa weekend. The staff – at least the older guy who checked me in – clearly knows the hiking trails and can point you toward the less obvious spots that aren’t crawling with tour groups. There’s this relaxed morning routine where guests sort of naturally gather in the breakfast area, and you’ll overhear conversations about which forest paths are muddy after rain or where to spot deer in the early hours. The whole vibe is refreshingly low-key, though I should mention that if you’re someone who needs everything to run with Swiss precision, the slightly casual approach to timing might test your patience. Check-in can be… flexible, let’s say. But that’s part of the charm, really – it feels more like staying with locals than being processed through a hospitality machine. The location works perfectly if you’re the type who actually wants to disconnect a bit and wake up to bird sounds instead of traffic, but still have a comfortable base to return to after a day of wandering around outdoors.

  I recently stayed in this apartment and was very satisfied with my stay. The apartment was clean and simple, exactly what I was looking for. The location is excellent, with plenty of free parking spaces just 50 meters away, making it very accessible. The value for money is very good, especially considering the amenities and location.
  
  The host was friendly and helpful, which is a big plus.
  
  What could be improved: there were two minor drawbacks. The host forgot to send the door code on time, so we were able to enter the apartment a bit later. Additionally, there were a few issues in the apartment, such as wobbly chairs.
  
  Despite these very small incidents, which I assume are rare and not a common occurrence with this host, I give the apartment a 9.0. All in all, a very pleasant stay and definitely recommended!

  Saubere Wohnung, alle was man für die kurze Zeit braucht ist da. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten ist zufuss erreichbar. Hat uns sehr gefallen immer wieder gerne.

  Schlüsselübernahme per Schlosstresor zu jeder Tag-/Nachtzeit. 50 m entfernte Bushaltestelle (alle 10 min in 7 min zur nächsten U-Bahnstation). Parkplatz nicht vorhanden, aber in der nächstgelegenen Straße immer einen Platz gefunden.

  Guter und unkomplizierter Kontakt. Zu zweit völlig ausreichend. Parkplatz vorhanden. Schönes Bad und Schlafzimmer.
  
  What could be improved: Lampe am Esstisch viel zu gross und zu tief. Ebenso die Dunstabzugshaube in der Küche. Hier haben wir uns beim Abwaschen ständig den Kopf gestoßen.

  Wir waren nur zum Schlafen und frühstücken in der Wohnung, dafür ist sie ausreichend.

  What could be improved: Das Schlafzimmer liegt an der Straße und der Straßenlärm abends ist schon viel. In der restlichen Wohnung hört man das kaum.
